Quality Assurance Engineer (QA)

Quality Assurance Engineer (QA)
Role Summary

Beron Intelligence is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to strengthen product quality through both thoughtful manual testing and maintainable test automation.

You will help turn requirements into clear test coverage, identify issues before release and provide reliable information about product readiness. This role suits someone who is curious about how systems fail, attentive to the user experience and comfortable working collaboratively throughout the development process.

Responsibilities
  • Review requirements and proposed changes to identify unclear behaviour, missing acceptance criteria and testing risks.
  • Create and maintain practical test plans, test cases and test data for new and existing functionality.
  • Perform exploratory, functional, regression and integration testing across web applications and APIs.
  • Develop and maintain automated tests for important user journeys, API behaviour and recurring regression checks.
  • Verify application behaviour across relevant browsers, devices and screen sizes.
  • Report defects with clear reproduction steps, expected and actual results, supporting evidence and an appropriate severity assessment.
  • Work with developers to investigate failures, verify fixes and reduce recurring defects.
  • Integrate automated checks into CI/CD workflows and communicate test results, outstanding risks and release-readiness concerns.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • Practical experience in software quality assurance, covering both manual testing and test automation.
  • Ability to design test cases from requirements, user journeys and identified product risks.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one automation framework, such as Playwright, Cypress or Selenium.
  • Working knowledge of a programming language used for automation, such as JavaScript, TypeScript or Python.
  • Experience testing APIs using Postman or an equivalent tool, including authentication, validation and error responses.
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines and basic SQL for checking application data.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate defects clearly, prioritise testing effort and distinguish product issues from test failures.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with performance or load testing using tools such as k6 or JMeter.
  • Familiarity with accessibility testing and common web security testing principles.
  • Experience testing permissions, file uploads, email workflows and other multi-step business processes.
  • Experience establishing or improving QA practices within a small or growing engineering team.
